Pop starlet Ashlee Simpson experienced a short bout of separation from her otherwise inseparable boyfriend Pete Wentz recently.

The separation, however, lasted for a few minutes, TMZ reports.

Simpson did the red carpet at the Grand Opening of Runway Night Club in NYC, which she hosted with model May Anderson.

Others present included Michelle Rodriguez, a lounging Joey Fatone, Alfonso Ribeiro, Borat's buddy Ken Davitian and Dennis Rodman.

Meanwhile Ashlee's ex and Paris Hilton's current beau, Josh Henderson, has revealed that the pop singer will always remain special to him.

Henderson, who split with Simpson after a two year relationship, said that Ashlee was his first love and they had discussed their future together.Henderson also said that when they were dating, they were sure that nothing could separate them.
